 It seem that the watchers are expected to pelt the rafts with flour and be drenched with water by the rafters in return.

Big Winds up Here

Blown over in the high winds a fortnight ago. Surprisingly shallow roots; but the bedrock isn't very deep on the way across to Shining Cliff so it's perhaps not surprising.

Sheep-Dipping in Bradford Dale

In late May or June to wash their fleeces the farmers brought their sheep.
In this deep pool the waters rush to escape.
The foam like wool pulsates,
Flock burbling bumbling bleating sheep.
Dip your ghosts, cold merky place.
